Sending an email right now ;) xx ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THIRTEEN MOONS WOMENS FESTIVAL A very special international gathering of women on Dartmoor hosted by Carolyn Hillyer September 4-7 2015 The first Thirteen Moons Festival was held in 2008, bringing together over 350 women from all over the UK and as far beyond as Russia, Japan and the States, for three days and nights of workshops, talks, seminars, concerts, song circles, ritual dance, sacred drumming and shared rituals ceremonies that celebrated bright edges, deep shadows, ancient sisterhood & wild hills. Next year we are calling women to gather once again! The themes of the festival will be wrapped around the bones of the thirteen Shaman Weavers, ancient grandmothers who hold the threads of womens sacred experiences, journeys and wisdoms. Each participating woman will join one of thirteen clans of sisters, supported and nourished by our crew of kindling women. We will travel together as drummers, singers, dancers, mystics, healers, ceremonialists, untamed spirits and creators of tender prayer and wild magic, through ritual landscapes and along ancient motherlines, into the cloth that carries all the textures, all the patterns, all the colours of our lives. This festival will be the first time all thirteen of the Shaman Weaver life-size paintings and loom cloths will come together within a shrine, forming an installation that represents the vast bowl- shaped loom around which the ancient grandmothers sit and work the cloth. We will also have a broad array of wonderful artists, musicians, craftswomen, teachers, storytellers, performers and presenters to weave their creative inspiration into the mix. We are expecting to welcome sisters travelling from many lands including Canada, Russia, Germany, Sweden and New Zealand.
