Heir to Genghis Khan is a 1928 Russian film starring Valéry Inkijinoff. It forms part of Pudovkins revolutionary trilogy, alongside Mother (1926) and The End of St. Petersburg (1927). The movie is shot on one easy breath, speed and rhythm. Director Vsevolod Pudovkin and the actor Valery Inkizhinov created success to the movie. Pudovkin was surprised by enthusiasm the locals of semeysky villages, the Buryat uluses participated in shooting. Passed 10 years after civil war. But in the Tarbagataysky area the former guerrillas arrived on horses, in full arms, in papakhas, with the guns, surrounded with machine-gun tapes, with sabers, the broadswords, ready though now to rush in fight. The mystical dance «Tsam» sets tension and greatness to all movie, being the second hidden plan, affecting subconsciousness of the viewer with the terrible symphony of pipes and drums. Besides today, for art critics it is exclusive historical and geographical value. Mongolia, her life way, datsans monasteries, lamas shown not in respect of decorative ethnographic concreteness, but through a prism of feeling of the person, his emotional experience.
