Did you know that Stockholm is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites? :) 1) Drottningholm - Palace from the seventeenth century surrounded by a lovely park and several unique buildings, such as the Chinese Pavilion and the Palace Theater. Residence of the Swedish royal couple and often called the Versailles of the Nordic region. 2) Skogskyrkogården cemetery - One of the finest work of modernist architecture, created by Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz. A variety of environments are blended in a beautiful interplay that invites calm and reflection. 3) Birka - In the Viking Age, the village on Björkö was the most important trade center for all of Mälardagen. Today the area features exciting ancient remains, a reconstructed viking village, a museum and much more to see and do.
