Hello! 1-DAY INTERNATIONAL FORUM FOR FILMMAKERS/AWARDS We bring you greetings from Nollywood. Association of Nollywood Core Producers (ANCOP) is an umbrella body for professional film Producers and Executive Producers in Nigeria, with presence in all the geopolitical zones of Nigeria. ANCOP (nollywoodancop.org) is duly registered under the laws of Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). Some notable filmmakers who are members of ANCOP include: Chief Gab Onyi Okoye (Igwe Gabosky), Mr. Chris Ekejimbe, Mr. Ejike Asiegbu, Malam Isa Zailani, Ms. Celine Loader, Mr. Lanre Falana, Mr. Alex Eyengho, Mr. Tunji Okanlawon, Mrs. Ada Anachunam, Mr. Donatus Chikezie Nkemdirim (Donkems), Chief (Ambs) Emeke Ike, Mr. Dickson Iroegbu, Col. Kingsley Umoh, Mr. Azuka Odunukwe (Ulzee), Matel Alex-Eyengho and Mr. Ifeanyi Onyeabor among others. Nigeria, through the platform of ANCOP was in ¬May 2011 admitted as a member of the prestigious International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), France. The only other African member-nation of FIAPF is Egypt. FIAPF (fiapf.org) membership cuts across Europe, America, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. In fact, FIAPF is a hub where major filmmakers and prominent studios converge to promote and protect the business of film globally. FIAPF was created in 1933 and it is the only existing global trade organization dedicated to the defense and promotion of the legal, economic and creative interests of filmmakers throughout the world. FIAPF is to film producing at global level what FIFA is to the game of football at global level. In May, 2013, ANCOP’s President, Comrade Alex Eyengho was elected as the first ever African-born Vice President of FIAPF. ANCOP is about the only internationally affiliated Producers association in Nigeria today. ANCOP and FIAPF are pleased to announce the 2nd edition of the ANCOP-FIAPF international forum for filmmakers in Nigeria and the maiden edition of ANCOP Awards in recognition of the contributions of some motion picture practitioners and prominent Nigerians towards expanding the frontiers of Nollywood and the Nigerian entertainment industry generally. The event comes up on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the Protea Hotel, 44, Isaac John Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, by 9am prompt. Mr. Bertrand Moullier will lead a high-powered delegation of FIAPF to the forum. Major players in the Nigerian audio-visual sector and government will also participate in this highly informative and educative forum.
