Hello Everyone, Attached are the changes we requested to motorcycle and scooter parking followed by the PPAs response and their survey of corral usage. As of now new rules summarized below will go into place January 1st. The PPA was clear that the dialog remains open and we committed only to bringing the feedback to you and reporting back at our next meeting which is about a month from now. Please post your feedback/questions here or email one or all of us privately. Heres a quick summary: M/S parking will be free until Jan 1. After Jan 1 the following will apply: Meters will not be returning. Dense parking will be allowed and future painting will not include individual spots. M/S will pay - car rates for less than 2 hours and - 2 hours for up to a full day (usually $5-$6) Virtual permits are now $75 for 90 days. Its a rolling 90 days as before. Virtual permits and 2 hour kiosk receipts will only be valid in corrals - You must pay car rates to park among the cars. Some corrals will be expanded. We will not get any seasonal corrals. Underutilized corrals will be consolidated with other corrals in adjacent areas - no areas will lose spots, - some corrals will gain spaces where underutilized corrals are removed. The PPA suggests we clip kiosk receipts to license plate. Many of us take a photo with our phone should we need to fight a ticket. Writing your license plate on the ticket should deter theft. The bicycle coalition has reached out to the PPA and asked that M/S stop parking in bicycle corrals. Please dont park in bicycle corrals! We intend to ask the PPA for a special motorcycle rate when their kiosk contract expires. We are hopeful this will also be the end of paper receipts--possibly cell phone payment. Here is a summary of the AMA online survey. There were many comments which were still working on consolidating: most suggested locations for corrals. 385 riders took the survey. Almost 50% of riders ride in Philadelphia weekly Nearly 70% of riders would be willing to pay the annual fee of $75 or the daily fee of $5. 85% would commute or ride more in the city if there was additional mc parking in the city. The results are heartening because they indicate that a large percentage of riders would come into the city more if there was additional parking. 70% think that the annual pass fee of $75 is a reasonable price. There is a discrepancy between the 85% who answered they would ride more if the there was more parking and the 70% who think $75 is reasonable. Morgan, Scott, Gary and Dave
