Hello Everyone, Here is the best rendition of the plaque honoring Barney Corrigan, George Drolette, and Phil Goettel which Roberta and I can print. On the plaque, the words are below the photograph. Perhaps some of you will one day see the plaque in person. The dedication will be Tuesday, 18 November 2014, at 7:00pm in the Benicia City Council Chambers. Coach George Drolette, Coach Phil Goettel, Coach Barney Corrigan Teachers, Coaches, Mentors, Builders, Friends They were a team, though they did not always agree. At times they coached football together, which is probably how they gained their greatest fame as coaches. They also coached other sports alone, and were always in support of Benicia High School students. Their connection in Benicia began in September of 1947 with the arrival of Phil Goettel followed the next year by Barney Corrigan and George Drolette. That time at the Old Benicia High School continued through the closing of that site in June of 1961 and extended through their time at the present school site and their eventual retirement from the Benicia Unified School District. With this plaque we honor them for all they did. Dedicated in November 2014
