Hello Everyone, I wanted to email and give you all an update on where things stand with me. Unfortunately, I got some bad news in the wee hours of Thursday morning. I read an MRI test result from post surgery, which showed numerous large tumors and swelling. I spoke to my radiation oncologist and on Monday I will be undergoing another of the Gamma Knife procedures. This is the procedure where they affix a head frame to me and stream targeted radiation into my brain from multiple directions. Also, as we look ahead, it is becoming clear that I will be undergoing IV chemotherapy. I have a PET scan scheduled for 12/12. This will allow my doctors to see if there is active cancer anywhere else in the body. I am hoping to delay the chemo until after Christmas, but wont know anything until mid to late next week or 12/15 when I meet with my medical oncologist, who develops the final plan. As you all know, I go through most everything with a smile and a joke, and a song in my heart. I just wanted to share with you a little insight into why that is.
