Hello Everyone :) On November 12 this year, I’ll be exhibiting my artwork along with other students at Avondale College. As we are producing the exhibition ourselves, it would be nice to have some support through sponsorship. To our calculations, the number needed to be reached is just over $2000. I know that is a lot, but even $5 -$10 from people will help us get there. Your generosity will be much appreciated and will help the students create a fresh, exciting and vibrant exhibition! Let me tell you a bit about my artwork that I will be exhibiting! For about four years now, I have been fascinated with clay and continually would go back to making the same thing over and over again not knowing why, thinking that I should have some awesome answer as to why I was making them... It wasn’t until the beginning of this year that a guest lady lecturer helped me realise why I was making them. She told me that she thought these sculptures were about me and my experience, and that I was unconsciously trying to tell my journey through them. She supposed that I didn’t know why I was making them because I was still walking that journey. Sitting with her I cried, she did too (but apparently she’s allergic to clay dust ;) It finally made sense as to why I was making these sculptures and why I titled them the way I did. Why I made them all different shapes, sizes and forms... but essentially, they were the same object. I was trying to figure out who I was... as a person, a girl, a woman, an artist... My sculptures, hopefully, will make you think and connect to your emotions. Even though they are metaphorically about me and who I am as a person and what I’ve been through... seeing as we are all human, you might see some of my art talking to you. This is scary for me to be exhibiting my art, because then people will be judging me, but I want to show people this. Maybe it will tell them something they need to know, realise or remember. P.s.
