Hello Fellow Rotarians and all friends As you already know, on Tuesday (25th) the Heathlands Project in Carlisle is in line to receive an award of £50,000. Winning the award is dependent on receiving the most telephone votes between 9am and midnight on Tuesday 25th November. Calls cost just 15pence and 10 calls can be made from any phone number – so if you have a mobile and a land line, you could make 20 calls at a cost of just £3. Heathlands (I’m its newest Director) desperately needs the money in order to locate some of its activities in Carlisle City Centre and thus reduce travel costs and gain better access to the University of Cumbria and the local FE College for their students studying health and social care, occupational health and other courses to gain experience with our Service Users. £50,000 would certainly make our dreams real!! If you are available for 2 hours between 10am and 4pm to help solicitor votes from customers entering or leaving Houghton Hall Garden Centre, please ring me at anytime before Monday evening and we’ll fit you in with your requirements. The plan is to give out information slips encouraging people to make phone calls to “Vote for Heathlands”. The 2 phone numbers – one for mobiles and one for landlines will be made known and open from 9am to Midnight on 25th November. Details will be in the Daily Mirror Newspaper, facebook/vote.heathlands and on the People’s Millions website or by phoning 01228-674950. The Numbers will also be shown on Border TV NewsRound at 6pm on Tuesday. Regards, Tony Parrini
