Hello Friends of Brian! Well, we are now at 8 weeks - wowza. Vicki, Mom, Dad and I met with all of his therapists and caregivers on Tuesday. They are very positive about his progress. Yes, it is very, very slow, but steady. Even though he is still comatose, his eyes are open a lot, he can crush your fingers and he is beginning to react to certain smells and tastes. He pulled a very ugly face when they touched lemon juice to his lips! He smirked a tiny bit when Don Carroll made a wisecrack about Dads crappy golf game. We are beginning to see some slight facial expressions. He petted and seemed to really enjoy the puppy they brought in for pet therapy. We have found a nice, new, completely furnished apartment (sheets, towels, knives and forks!) for mom and dad that is 10 minutes to the care center. They will be hunkering down for the winter in SLC!! In a way, it is a new timeline for all of us. In the beginning, they predicted 6-8 weeks until Brian woke up. As we neared the end of that timeline, we were all feeling very anxious and frustrated, as we realized it was not going to be. With the 3 month lease we signed, it has provided us a new timeline. They are anxious to be a bit more settled. Still, it was a little weird - filling out a credit application and background check information for them . . . . ha! It asked if they have ever been evicted or convicted . . . no - but theres still that possibility . . . ha - Lamond . . . ya gotta love him!!
