Hello Future Freshman Residents! We hope you are getting excited for Move-In Day, which is just around the corner! Several weeks ago we sent out notice that some residents were receiving alternate placement locations in our Banfield Hall residence hall as a precautionary measure in case not all rooms in our new Freshman Residence Hall were completed in a timely manner. We appreciate your patience and ongoing understanding as we have navigated this process. We are very happy to share that we do not plan on using your alternate placement in Banfield Hall – this means that all freshman residents placed in our newest residence hall will be able to move directly into their permanent room on Move-In Day, August 27th. We have been working closely with the UAS project manager and contractors, who have been working around the clock to ensure that the building is ready for your arrival. On Move-In Day, all residence hall suites should be 100% complete – we do not anticipate that contractors will need to access resident suites to complete any final checklist items. In addition, the kitchen, laundry facilities, trash room, mail service, and main common areas should be operable and ready for resident use. We expect that any additional work to complete these areas will have a minimal impact on residents, but we do appreciate your patience, once again, in advance. Please refer to your original placement letter for your specific room assignment in the Freshman Residence Hall. As always, remember that placements are subject to change – although this means only that you may have a different suite number in the building, not that you will be moved to another building. If you have any questions, please call the Housing Office directly at (907) 796-6528. We look forward to your arrival at the Freshman Residence Hall (Located on Main Campus) on August 27th, 2014!
