Hello, I am a dental student that is starting to have real-life practice on patients. Therefore, my interests are concentrated on the subject of the perfect impression and as such I am curious about the impression tray selection for alginate material. Should the tray be perforated - because it gives a mechanical retention when the alginate mass flows through the holes OR unperforated that keep the mass in place and allows more mass to surround the soft tissues? I tried to conduct a research on this subject in pubmed. However, no great results were achieved during my search. Could you please provide articles, citations and other valid facts that show which type is better? Curious Student, Adas Lv
