Hello! I dont quite know how to phrase this question! We have a raised bungalow in a city near Toronto, ON. We recently repainted a few spaces- entry hall, and our daughters room. We used Glidden Eggshell interior latex. Well, THIS keeps happening-- see attached pic. These spots had been behind furniture, and thus unnoticed. They are odd cold, sweaty spots on the wall. Actually, they are in two different rooms. They will NOT stay painted. The paint just slides off the wall. We have tried upping the thermostat to 92℉, aiming a fan and space heater at the spots, an outside generator powered heater against the outside where the spots are... primer, Kilz, stripping paint then trying again... Im totally at a loss. How can we fix this? Clearly, its an insulation problem. We are thinking more spray foam around the siding and windows, and shrink wrapping the windows.... more insulation, in short. Its been -38°c lately, and the whole house is sweating. We are looking at dehumidifiers, prefer diy if possible. You guys are a wealth of knowledge, so I figured I would start here. Thanks all.
