Saturday August 2nd the city of El Cerrito is holding a public workshop to explore 5 pilot projects under their Urban Greening Plan Study. We need as many mountain bikers at this workshop to ensure that trail development and the building of a bikepark is a top priority. Without our collective demand for local trails and a city run bikepark neither will be taken seriously as a regional priority. Of the 5 projects our interest is the Hillside area study. Talking points should focus on trail master planning and construction that is accessible to all users, well managed and sustainable designed. Within the Hillside is a gem, the old EBMUD water tank site which is a perfect location for a Bikepark. I will be presenting a story board which educates city leaders and their consultants on what a bikepark is, the benefits of bikeparks and a preliminary design and cost estimate for this bikepark. Please, please, please come by and support our vision.
