Hello UHartford Sustainability, I am a Trinity College sophomore - TopicsExpress

Hello UHartford Sustainability, I am a Trinity College sophomore and has launched a project through a college grant that support sustainability initiatives at Trinity, Hartford, and beyond. I am willing to work with any UHartford students, faculty, staff, and alumni willing to engage in this project. Digitally Mapping Hometowns (Website: digitallymappingsustain.org, Facebook: on.fb.me/1vatFmY) is a web platform that allows youth ages 14-26 to map, reflect share their stories on environmental and sustainability issues affecting their area. I developed this project because I realized that there is no place out there for youth to identity a key environmental issue (by adding it to a map, simply Google Map is fine) and promote change on environmental issues or encourage a sustainable effort/program to continue based on their personal experiences. Currently, the project will be accepting submissions from youth 14-26 anywhere in the world in any creative media form from blog posts to audio to photo essays. I am extremely interested in developing a Hartford presence in the project as well so I definitely would love to hear any ideas that the UHartford community has for submissions or simply to add thoughts on what people in Hartford need to be aware of or continue doing with sustainability. Be in touch! If you would to speak to me about this project, please message me on Facebook or email me at [email protected].
