Hello Winnsboro(& surrounding areas); We are failing as a community. Our children are failing in the school systems. Parents should be charged with dereliction of duty because of how terribly our children are being reared. No morals; no values; no sense of integrity; duty; or responsibility! We concern ourselves with this club and that social media post or with reality television, and neglect to see after our children & their needs or concerns. We address injustices towards our children as ...just what they do, and we cant change that!!! We have infighting amongst our leaders over power struggles instead of them working together to correct community struggles! Always jumping hurdles and running around obstacles just to be sure not to step on their toes!!! I must admit that I too have been a product of my environment; feasting off my own kind. I was evidently wrong, but now our community is being wronged through neglect & prejudicial treatment. Im not speaking of the unjust nature of our laws, but of the blatant disregard of the laws when it comes to the treatment of our children. Our kids are being railroaded in the school system & our pastors and churches; educators; political leaders; and (most importantly)parents are sitting on their hands. And not just for our child in particular, but our children in general! We must reevaluate our schools & our communities! Lets breakdown & figure out who is in it for us as a whole & not set out to benefit themselves & only a particular group! Who has OUR best interest @ heart! Parents, we have to step up & speak out! Be vocal about the things occurring with our children; GOOD or BAD, but know the difference between the two. Know when a teacher is trying to get your child to do what needs to be done to excel in school and ultimately life, and when they are being tortured & harassed in school by dictating administrations that dont even care about our childs development or education! Our kids staged a walk out and received no support! Right or wrong, it should have been addressed as a problem happening somewhere for some reason! Kids not allowed to receive adequate tutelage in sports due to subpar coaches that dont care whether they ultimately succeed are fail! How does a school which has an Olympic medalist to vouch for discontinue the very sport that provided that opportunity?!! I can honestly say(without bias) that our mayor has goals to improve our town, and I dont believe the contrary is the case with his opponent. They are both good men & community leaders, so why dont they find a way to work together?!! Im tired of the struggle. Its time for the progress! Lets get involved, people! School board meetings; Chamber of Commerce meetings; Police Jury meetings; Church meetings....we have to be accounted for, and not just piling into the clubs!!! I believe that with the right efforts we can make our community(s) better. More importantly, I believe that we will make it better!!!
