Hello all, I wanted to take a moment to give everyone a health update, and to introduce to you our new eBay Store name: Stormmountaincyclery. To me, changing our online name is a very personal decision and important change. As most of you know, I am still recovering from a near death experience with cancer in late 2012, that left me without the ability to speak, eat, drink or swallow. The change of our online name not only ties in with our brick and mortar bike shop in Loveland, Colorado very well, but also represents the mindset that I have had to take on to conquer my disease, and even harder, its remaining effects on my life. I was forced to adopt the mindset that, no matter the storm, or its size, if it comes, I must overcome it, one step at a time. On that note, I have a really wonderful health update for everyone. During surgery, among other glands and facial tissue, they had to remove my entire tongue, and I was left without the ability to speak. For the first several months, I would go thru 60-80 pieces of paper a day writing out my thoughts, and what I wanted to say to everyone. Now, 18 months later, I can proudly announce that I have taught myself to speak again. I can make every sound of the English Alphabet. I can speak to my children, and they understand me. It took me what felt like a lifetime of trying and struggling, and failing, to finally get to the place where I can speak again, even without my tongue. I still have a long way to go in my physical recovery, but I am happy to be able to say, with the help and support of innumerable people, I am overcoming this storm, and am so thankful to still be here to be apart of all your lives. I consider it a privilege and an honor.
