Hello all Thank you for the ad. I lived in Okinawa on Kadena AFB in 69-71. I was in the eighth and ninth grade. My father was the Sergeant Major of Kadena at that time, not sure what that was back then... LOL .. His name was Odell Gardner for any of you former active duty at Kadena. I remember being bussed off base to the quancet (sp ?) huts for school. Across the street from our house on the base was a huge hill that had a lookout on the top from the war, directly behind our house were tombs. The SR-71s flying over was quite a sight.. I remember my mom did allot of shopping..LOL Our plane to Kadena was full of young kids headed to Vietnam ,sad to think how many did not make it back to the states. All in all a wonderful experience for a teenager, I would not mind going back someday even though I am sure it has changed allot. Merry Christmas to everyone..
