Hello all. Todays journey was from Las Vegas to Barstow. Thank goodness for good air conditioning in the car. The temperature was 109 outside. We drove most of the day along highway 66 and are staying at the Motel 66 in Barstow. Along the way we found a stopped train and started taking pictures. The Engineer came out and asked me to send him the pictures. He tossed me a railroad flare with a note giving his email address. On the highway is a berm on which hundreds of people have put their names in stone. Some quite elaborate. All in all a good day, We managed to photograph at least 6 trains.
