Hello all existing and new friends. I just wanted to say thank you for all for comments of support following the recent press coverage of a very small and (i thought) insignificant business decision. The last 48 hours have been both amusing and bewildering. As a small business it is sometimes not possible to reserve large tables in our lunch rush unless they are for lunch. When i was approached by the Conservative events team, i did not know which senior politician would be visiting and certainly did not snub him, or throw him out as has been reported in some of the press. I simply explained i could not accommodate them all for coffee during our lunch period but suggested other suitable times if they still wished to visit. I had no idea that this simple decision would become newsworthy and end up in the National press. I did not consent to my photo being used and I have not spoken to any of the National newspapers who have run with the story. The further afield this story gets the more removed from the truth it becomes so i wanted you to know what really happened and that Thyme Deli would never snub a customer, high profile or otherwise, but i will always try to make the best decision i can for the good of the business and its valued customers.
