Hello dear ladies, for todays BBindas, these are my thoughts! - TopicsExpress

Hello dear ladies, for todays BBindas, these are my thoughts! What is your favorite childhood nostalgia? Is it the good old grandmother’s tale of raja, rani, rakkhosh (demon), brohmodoittyo (the queer-looking, long, fearful ghost), pokkhiraag ghora (the horse driven by the king or prince)? Is it the fantasyland that had very much been an integral part of your truant child mind? Or is it a different world woven with childhood friends, kites and dolls, the particular taste and aroma of your favorite food prepared by your mother? Is it the memory of making paper boats and making them sail in the neighborhood pond/creek in a loving gesture of celebrating the little, priceless wonders of life? As for me, the fondest childhood memories that fill me with nostalgia and love are those of the rain. I remember how I used to be obsessed with the image of drizzling, the croaking of the frogs that followed, the rain-soaked streets where I could dip my feet, my sandals, never minding the dirt and mud. It carries the sweet remembrances of making paper boats and make them float in our verandah which used to overflow with water from the rain. I also fondly remember the power cuts in my parents’ home in Barrackpore, followed by thunder and lightning, and how I used to cringe in my bed after listening to the ghost stories narrated by my Grandmother. It was a world of awe, wonder and a delight and craving for little things in life, which, sadly, has been wiped away by the merciless hands of time. Sharing a song that was my first rain song learnt from my mother in my childhood. Hope you will enjoy! Now I would love to know all your stories about your fondest childhood memory/nostalgia. youtube/watch?v=ddrPU7fe_nE
