Hello everybody! Ooomppph, it’s another hot day; another day of searching for cool spots! I’ve found three so far... under the ceiling fan in our living room; on the stone floor in the kitchen and one particular spot in our hallway! I wuv the sun, though, and I’m happy that we’ve got a little bit of summer this year! I hope you are all feeling waggy-tailed! I know that I am! Mummy and I had a wuvely early morning walk. I didn’t get to see any cats today but there were tons of birds everywhere! I started to chase them but had to give up because I couldn’t decide which one to follow! Just like the cats, I think it was bird tactics – confuse the little doggie and she’ll leave us alone! Well, I left them alone today BUT there’s always next time! BOL! It was wuvely out in the sunshine; there was still an early morning feel to the air, though, which was great! I felt bouncy this morning and had a complete ‘Mad Cairn’ moment at the top of one of the lanes. We’d just passed a human male who was cutting across the corn field (public pathway) to get to work and, for some reason, it sent me ‘Mad Cairn’! I jumped and twisted and somersaulted over my lead until it was so caught up that Mummy had to untangle it! It was SUCH fun to do! I’d calmed down, though, by the time we reached the road! BOL! We walked up to the bridge and it was easier today as the hedge which has been hanging over the path has been cut away, so I didn’t mind walking past it so much. We also met a lovely lady who lives along the road... I went up to her and she fussed me. She told Mummy that she used to have a Jack Russell and how she misses having a doggie. When we see her again, I shall have to give her an extra Cairn cuddle! Daddy was very late home last night. I began to fret a bit, but Mummy didn’t seem worried so I knew that everything was okay. BUT... it’s Daddy who always gives me my evening meal after Mummy and Daddy have eaten and last night MUMMY gave it to me and she hadn’t eaten! After that, I kept looking for Daddy and eventually I saw him come through the gate! Oooooh, I was sooooooo relieved and ran out to meet him! He’d been to collect a trailer full of wood on his way home from work, which will help us to keep warm in the Winter! He always thinks of us and looks after us, but I hope he’s not going to late like that again! I wuv my Daddy. I made Mummy laugh this morning! After Daddy had gone to work, Mummy went upstairs to have a shower and get dressed. I followed her up but there wasn’t anything to do while she was in the bathroom so I came back downstairs again! Mummy covers the seats of the furniture with towels so I can be comfortable (I think that’s why she does it; I can’t think of any other reason!) and I went to lie on the sofa. Then I started to play with the corner of the towel and managed to get my nose underneath it. Then I was able to grab it with my teeth and eventually twist it off the sofa and onto the floor, where I rolled around in it! I then heard Mummy on the stairs and hadn’t time to put it back! Ooops! I ran to greet her and gave her a cuddle to distract her and... IT WORKED! All she did was laugh at what I’d done and put the towel back on the sofa for me! I can be a Cairn TERROR sometimes! BOL! Well, everybody, I shall finish barking here for today. Mummy’s got more beading plans so she wants to get all her work done so she can bead this afternoon! Have a wuvely day and, if it’s hot, stay cool, drink water and SNOOZE! That’s what I’m going to do! Keep those tails wagging! Kisses and licks, Brenna
