Hello everybody! This is Bettina, I just wanted to share a little - TopicsExpress

Hello everybody! This is Bettina, I just wanted to share a little bit of my experience with Stoked On Fishing on October 12 and 13th. I was blessed and fortunate enough to be part of a group of 25 anglers on board the Thunderbird out of Davies Locker, Newport Beach Ca. I am not going to kid you, although I am used to being the only girl onboard a fishing a boat, this is the first time in 15 years that I had been back on a charter-boat, I was a little bit nervous. Nerves quickly fluttered away, and this was a FUN, and FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!! We got on the boat Sunday night approximately at 9PM. Left our things on our bunk-beds. Started off with a safety, rules, and expectation meeting. This makes everything so much easier! Eventually most of us wondered off to bed. In what seemed like a blink of an eye, everybody noticed the first gray light, and the engines slowing down. We were all up on deck staring at the majestic, and lonely San Clement Island. It did not matter that we were advised that the bite was starting a little late around 9 AM, lines were right away in the water! It was a beautiful God given day! Yes, as advised the bite was a little late. Couple of guys got hit, and then for everybodys surprise I started getting hooked one after another. You should have seen the smile on my face! At the end of the day some guys caught up to 12 fish, between Bonita, Yellow Tail, one good size Halibut, and one catch and release black Seabass. Even though I only caught five and lost three (forgot to change the hook), I felt like a winner, and had the best of times! I must say it was not only catching the fish; the group of men (all different age groups and backgrounds), I shared the day with were great! They were all gentlemen, courteous, patient with each other, celebrating each others victory, they offered suggestions to those who were not doing good, sharing their little tricks and secrets. It was like being part of the team, I guess it is the sport fishing after all! The Thunderbird crew, is amazing! This wonderful group of Comrades kept the boat top notch, clean, safety first, and a watchful eye over everyone and everything. After long hours of hard work, they always had a smile on their face, a joke upon their sleeves, a helpful hand, great advise, and above all, a kind heart!!! I wanted to say thank you to Shay Mc Intee, the producer of the show Stoked On Fishing. If you ever get to meet him you will understand the where and the why of the name of his show. He loves, lives, breads, and enjoys this sport. Its like the blood that flows through his veins. So its natural that he made us all feel very comfortable with his presence, his camera, his jokes, unique laughter, and positive encouragement! Thanks again Shay, its always a pleasure! I am grateful I got to share this experience with my husband Andrew, our son Andrew A., our new camera man Johnny, our dear friends , Will, Joe and new friend Brock! Thank you to all! I am sure in my heart that this great day was the result that a collective effort on everybodys part. It definitely would not have been the same without each one of you present in each others life! May God bless you all!!!
