Hello everyone, As you know I have been spending quite a bit - TopicsExpress

Hello everyone, As you know I have been spending quite a bit more time than usual supporting the Iranian refugees who are being criminally abused and killed in Iraq as a deliberate act by the Prime Minister doing the bidding of the mullah regime in Iran. God has opened a door for ministry in the name of Jesus and the kingdom and many lives have been touched, people connected to Jesus for the first time and all kinds of goo things happening in the face of some of the most horrible forms of inhumanity and injustice imaginable. I am constantly amazed at the measure of encouragement that comes to people like those imprisoned in Camp Liberty [was there ever a more inappropriate name] and those who have carried the concerns of ordinary people in Iran as these people have. They have documented the deaths of 120,000 people whose crime was to register their opposition the inhumane actions of the Iranian Regime. In Australia we call such people members of the opposition party. We dont arrest them, imprison and torture them and kill them. So if we were living in Iran and doing what we are free to do in Australia we would be in jail or dead. It is hard for us to identify with what is going on because it is so far removed from our own experience in every way. There are small things we can do. Like the story Jesus told about the Good Samaritan, we can see what is happening and do certain things that have a powerful flow-on effect. I am asking you to do one of those things this week. On Friday some of the people who represent this cause, including myself, will be meeting with the Advisor to the Foreign Minister to see how the Australian Government could do more to help. There will also be a Rally at the Federation Mall just in front of the new Parliament House. Previously there have been Iranian born people at these rallies and that is understandable. What we want is to let the people in Camp Liberty know that we non-Iranian born people care about them as well. I repeat, I am constantly overwhelmed at how great the encouragement to them is felt when they see Aussie faces supporting them in their need. Jesus said that if we see a need and CAN do SOMETHING about it, we represent HIM when we DO what we can. Would you join us on FRIDAY [November 22nd - this coming Friday] 12:15 - 1:15 pm. FEDERATION MALL PARLIAMENT HOUSE I look forward to seeing you there. Brian Medway
