Hello everyone, Dinner information: I talked to Mr. Gerry about dinner today, we’re all set. Mr. Gerry will be arriving at the Foreside Tavern at 6:15 on Saturday, June 14th, and I would like to have everyone there by that point. Please show up as close to 6:00 as you can manage. If I get 25 I will call them and ask to reserve the entire room, as 25 people should easily spend $600 on food (not including tips, just the food). Until then, I don’t want to have to risk having to cover the remaining balance, should $600 not be spent. All the food will be put on separate bills, and if everyone could contribute $5-$10 (on the evening of the meal) to cover Mr. Gerry’s food and that of his family, that would be great. Video information: I am now ready to start collecting videos. Here’s my suggestion for recording them: On Mac, the built-in Photo Booth will work well, as will Quicktime Player. On Windows, either use a built-in software like Windows Movie Maker, or download a free software like Debut Video Capture Software, which can be found at: nchsoftware/capture/ Any common video format will be fine, such as .mov, .mp4, or .mpeg. .wmv will probably also work. The higher the resolution the better. It should last 15-30 seconds, and here are a couple thoughts on content if you need ideas: - Talk about an experience you had with math team, or with Mr. Gerry that you remember - Say how math team has helped you in college/career, etc. - If Mr. Gerry changed your view on math, and made it seem like an enjoyable topic, say so. - Simply say thanks for what he’s done. You can email it to me as an attachment on an email if it’s fairly small. Otherwise, upload it to Google Drive at drive.google, then share it with my Google account, which is [email protected]. Finally, if you can think of anyone else that might like to take part, don’t hesitate to contact them - I can incorporate new videos up until the last minute, and we still have room for 5-8 people at the dinner.
