Hello everyone! I have some questions about the theology of Christianity. I recently came across the idea of Limited Forgiveness – that God only forgives people up to a certain point, and I’m concerned about this. I’m also concerned that it might be that certain verses within the Scriptures somehow qualify/narrow down the meaning of other verses, and that we currently don’t know about this – that people in the future may discover this and it’ll turn out that we’ve been wrong. I assume God can forgive people an unlimited number of times, in any situation, as long as the sinner truly repents and believes, but Im looking for definitive proof from the Scriptures or the history of the Church which prove that Limited Forgiveness is not true. However, please feel free to provide anything that, while not definitive, is still helpful. I have some questions that I’m hoping will help: 1. Do we know whether the apostles, other significant/authoritative figures in Christianity, or early Christians behaved in a way that goes –against– the idea of Limited Forgiveness? Please show me the best examples of this! I need to have as little doubt as possible. 2. Can you disprove the idea of Limited Forgiveness (or prove the idea of Unlimited Forgiveness with Repentance & Belief) in any other ways? Also, IF POSSIBLE, please provide information that would satisfy most denominations within Christianity since I’m not sure which denomination I should be in right now. If you can’t, that’s okay too! Thank you! :)
