Hello everyone. Ive just joined the group so I thought Id introduce myself. First, thanks for having me. As my handle would suggest, I live in the Felling area of Gateshead. I got my first Dslr about 3 years ago, a Sony Alpha A550 for no other reason than I liked the look of it. Since then (this year in fact) Ive added a Nikon D3200 to my arsenal.....both armed with kit lenses. Since the day I got the A550 Ive tried (with difficulty) to move away from being a snapper to something approaching a photographer. The jury is still out as to whether Im succeeding or not. As yet, I havent settled on a photographic niche ie. landscapes, portraits etc but looking at my collection I have more flowers than anything else (probably because they are everywhere and so photogenic). The last couple of years has seen me move into photoshop where I can indulge my passion for surreal images. Some would argue that my over the top style (such as it is) is just a way to cover up my incompetence behind the camera. Who knows, maybe there is some truth in that. I offer a blank cheque to anyone who wants to comment on the images I upload and encourage all to offer constructive criticisms and/or advice even if they dont like the image, just bear in mind that I dont like it doesnt help anyone. Hope I havent prattled on to long. Ill post my first set of images soon, just thought Id introduce myself first.........so, as they say, watch this space. Mal (fellingmal)
