Hello everyone! Please do the honor and spread the word of this great cause. I have a very dear friend deployed in Africa, where he has experienced some grieving events. Please help us by helping those in need of a simple pair of old shoes. From the words of Jason... All, I had a moment of clarity while I was on my run last night and have decided to put together an organization to help a few barefoot people in need. As you all know, Im deployed to Djibouti here in the Horn Of Africa (HOA). Ive been off base twice since Ive been here and had the typical American response, shocked by the 70% unemployment, poverty, drug use, disease and seeing a few Haves but most here are the have-nots. The first question anybody gets here is, Can I please have your shoes? Its hard for us all to imagine being that poor - some walk around barefoot while others have one shoe that barely fits (I guess better than nothing). The lightbulb came on and the fact we are not doing Gods work here (no rescues going on this deployment) - this gives people the ability to walk on dirt and gravel without infection/injury at the cost of mailing a flat rate fee for old shoes you would probably end up throwing away anyway. If you or anyone is interested, please mail to the address attached your old shoes (children, women/mens). Thanks, Jason. Dont just like, recommend to friends and grab a pair of shoes to send today!
