We would like to write to him and thank him and ask him for continued support. France has always been a big ally to the Assyrians. We express our sincere gratitude for the steps that you have taken by visiting the Nineveh Plains, appealing to the European Union, and calling on the Iraqi government and world leaders to take action. We respectfully ask that France would continue to work on the crisis in Iraq until there is peace and stability for all people groups. We would like to thank France for its humanitarian service during this plight of the minorities of Iraq. As you are aware, currently there are hundreds of thousands of minorities that are homeless, having been banished from their communities. The crisis in Iraq is so dire that the United Nations has declared the highest level of emergency. We would like to ask for constant aid to the minorities until the terrorists are neutralized. The Assyrians are the indigenous Christians of Iraq. They have lived in Mesopotamia for over 7000 years, long before Iraq was a state or Islam even existed. Today they are facing one of the most horrific genocides to ever occur. The terrorists are killing the Assyrians, banishing them from their homes, destroying their artifacts, manuscripts, ancient buildings, and burning their Bibles and churches. This is nothing short of an ethnic cleansing and must be stopped immediately. The French Assyrian relationship has been very close throughout history. Assyrians were also aligned with France and the allies during the World Wars. France has always assisted the Assyrians for which we are ever grateful. We ask that France would now advocate a sanction for a safe haven under international protection in the Nineveh Plains for the Assyrian Christians and other minorities.
