Hello everyone, This post will contain both tomorrows events and some information on academic success. Tomorrows events include: Student Bar Association (SBA): Meeting 12-12:50 p.m.; Warren Hall Room 131. Join us for our first SBA meeting of the semester. SBA meetings are held every other Monday and any USD law student may attend. Be sure to check out the SBA TWEN page for the latest news. Contact: SBA Secretary Adabela Bonillo. Federalist Society: Entrepreneurship and the Law— Combating Regulations and Creating Jobs 12-12:50 p.m.; Warren Hall Room 2A. Successful businessman Sean OHare returns to USD to explain entrepreneurship in America, as well as how to combat regulations and create jobs. Delicious sandwiches will be served. Contact: Federalist Society President Neal Albright. There is a wide range of resources available to us for getting some additional academic support. It may help to start by looking at the ten steps below and see if there is a particular area of improvement for you. 1. Maintain balance 2. Be prepared for class 3. Attend class faithfully 4. Review course material regularly 5. Consider joining an effective study group 6. Visit your professors and academic success fellows 7. Create your own study tools and outlines 8. Take practice exams 9. Manage your time wisely 10. Seek help if you need it Rather than reinventing the wheel, I actually would encourage you to click through the entire webpage that USD created for academic success here: sandiego.edu/law/student-affairs/academic-success/materials/succeeding.php. There are some useful tips. I also recommend reaching out to Kiyana Kiel ([email protected], (619) 260-6876, Warren Hall, Room 206) for additional help if you havent already. Dont hesitate to reach out to me if you have any further questions and Ill try to steer you in the right direction. Best regards, Devon
