Hello, everyone!! :) Well....today I went for my IV treatment....for Lyme disease and I meet a young lady who was coming in for her treatment as well....She was getting her 5th treatment (just like I was).....She was in her early twenties....and I learned once again....so much..... She was having problems....for a couple of years....but in the last couple of years she became so ill....She woke up and she could not move ....Her body became stiff....and along with that and other symptoms she had so much PAIN!!! She was in the Emergency room with the pain...and ended up in the hospital....and once again....out of all of the doctors seeing....her....notting was wrong with her that they could see...but they did see something happening....and felt that it was Lupus....so the treatment began with Steroids.....Lots and lots of Steroids....they sent her home....but she only got worse.....she sent back and asked the doctor to check her for Lyme disease...(she had seen something on the internet which told her to check for Lyme disease)....The doctor looked at her and told her NO.....that Lyme disease was not here in Texas and so he treated her again with Steroids!!! and when you have Lyme disease....you do not give Steroids.....giving Steroids to a person with Lyme disease...only causes the Lyme bacteria to grow .....and then that caused her more and more pain....The Lyme is bacteria and should not be given steroids.... Our Doctor could not believe that she was on Steroids for what they thought was Lupus (autoimmunie disease) ....The young lady was so happy to finally be given her diagnosis......She now knows what she is dealing with and she knows that everything that she was telling everyone was indeed what was happening.... The reason for this story is because I want to make sure and let everyone know about what is happening.....It is real....and the sad part about all of this? How can this be? We live in the United States!! where we are all proud to live! How can the doctors be so ignorant? How could Doctors? causes her so much harm? It needs change!! :)
