Hello everyone, there was scheduled to be an evening service at Atukuru village but it has been cancelled due to some unforseen circumstances. The time is therefore being used for rest and preparations. Below is a mid trip report from our Director and a group picture of participants from the 2 day training seminars. First of all, my sincere thanks to all of you who have been reading and praying for us here in Andhra Pradesh, India. I have been partnering in mission with Revd Dr Suresh Vemulapalli, founder and Director of India Village Ministries, since we met in the UK in 2001.This is my 6th Ministry Trip here. We are based in a very rural setting, about one and a half hours drive from Vijayawada, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh state. IVM oversees a number of village churches in a radius of approximately 100 miles. The pastors and leaders meet every month for prayer, fellowship, teaching and the breaking of bread (Acts 2.42). The ministry also runs a Childrens Home which provides secure accommodation, food, clothing, education to the end of Secondary School in the nearby town, and much more. Currently there are 57 children being looked after. They are either orphaned or their parents are too poor to provide for them. It also runs a tailoring school for local women to learn a trade and so supplement their husbands meagre income from farming. Widows and the elderly are also cared for. My role is primarily to visit, generally once every two years, to preach and to teach, encouraging the churches and ministering to the pastors and leaders as they gather for two consecutive days. We have formed good friendships over the 15 years, and I am always well received. Every IVM church has grown numerically. Some have multiplied and planted new branch churches. Most, having begun in a small house in a village, now have their own land and church building. The Services are all broadcast so the whole neighbourhood hears the gospel on a weekly basis, and more often during Festivals such as Christmas and Easter. This trip has been no exception. Everywhere we have been so far, including the two days of Pastors Conference, has gone well by Gods grace, and will continue to bear good and lasting fruit. Thank you once again for your input into this relatively isolated and unknown part of Gods world. All praise and thanks to God who is faithful and able. God bless you, partner!
