Hello fellow Relayers. It is that time of year again. We will have our first Relay for Life Committee meeting Tuesday September 3 at 6:30 PM in the Baumgart Room of the Harrison County Hospital. We have lots to discuss and prepare. Last year we raised just over $100,000. Our goal this year is to exceed $100,000. Every year the Committee is short members. It is always difficult to get everything done when you do not have enough people. Please consider joining the Committee. The more people we have on the Committee the easier it is for everyone and the better Relay we can put on. Remember we are all Volunteers trying to do the best we can. If you saw an area that needed improvement, please join the Committee and help us put on the best Relay possible. We all know why Relay is so very important. We have all been touched by the effects of Cancer. If not personally, then either a family member or friend. Not all of us can be researchers, but we can all be fundraisers. The Harrison County Relay for Life is a part of the 4 million people each year in over 20 countries that come together to help fund the research that will eliminate cancer. We are a part of the tidal wave of hope that helps family and friends see another birthday. Please come Tuesday September 3 at 6:30 PM in the Baumgart Room of the Harrison County Hospital in Corydon and help us do what is necessary to save our family and friends. Even though our goal is serious, we have a lot of fun along the way. It is important to celebrate life along the way. Thank you for your support in the past and in the future. If you want an opportunity to say goodbye, you can see her one last time at the Harrison County Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk Kick-off Event, Monday August 26 at the Harrison County Community Foundation at 7 PM. Tracy has worked very hard to help our Community reach its goals for both Strides and Relay. You may want to write her a note or a card of appreciation. I for one will miss her greatly.
