Hello fellow Welshies, I have been a member of this group for some time but this is my first post. Like many of my countrymen I have a passion for rugby (despite coming from North Wales) and I have been involved in rugby in the Gulf for 15 years as a player, reluctant spectator, administrator and manager. For the past 7 years I have been Manger of the Bali Legends team that plays in the Int Vets section of the Dubai 7s. The team plays in memory of the 27 rugby players who died in the Bali bombings whilst competing in the Bali 10s in 2002, and also promotes and rises money for the charity Dan’s Fund For Burns. Any way after that rather wordy intro the reason for this mail is to let you know that this year’s team has quite a strong Welsh flavor with 12 of our touring party coming from Wales. Those who know their Welsh rugby may recognize a few names from yesteryear in the team. So if you do and are at the 7s this weekend and you fancy coming down to watch us it would be great to have your support. I have listed below the squad, and also the schedule for our games on Thursday and Friday this week. Who knows what will happen on Saturday…. I have also included below a link to an article that was done on us in last weeks Khaleej Times. Hope to see some of you pitch side on Thursday and Friday this week.
