Hello folks... Continued praise reports on April. April is a heroic and strong 5 month stroke survivor, and we are so proud of her. There are so many things about which we can be happy. She freely walks the three levels of our house. Gets her own pop. Makes household and family decisions. Her mind, as always, is as sharp as a tack. We visited her old office the other day during lunch, and she was excited to see everyone. She went and picked out an outfit for the Christmas party, complete with shoes. Today, we went to Rick and Lauras after therapy to pick up a sick Philip, and she proudly walked up from the parking lot to their place without her cane. She is amazing me. She is ornery as ever, continually messing with me, Morrigan, and Philip. She is almost her old self, except for the ephasia and right arm impairment. Simply stated, she is a miracle. She hasnt had much of an appetite lately, which concerns me. Otherwise, she is doing quite well. At times I will come upstairs from my office to check on her and she will be in the kitchen doing something. Today, she was looking at how I was organizing the canned foods and not in a very approving way. She also thinks I need to quit buying parmesan cheese each time I go to the store, haha. This evening, while Philip and I were out, she went up to his room and tore down his pillow and bedsheet fort he had constructed inside of his door. When he came home and saw it dismantled and expressed his outrage, she just laughed and laughed. Like I said, she is ornery. She loves listening to Christmas music and singing along. She loves seeing pictures of dogs, dogs on TV, and actual dogs when we are out and about. She reminds us to put our coats on before we leave. I could go on and on. Tomorrow I will be gone all day on business. I will miss her, but I am sure she and Laura will have fun doing what they are going to do, such as wrap Christmas presents, clean Philips room, etc. I will hopefully have a successful day and will look forward to coming home to her, and hopefully she will be happy to see me. She is my hero, and she is my Christmas gift. I really dont want anything else. Her survival and recovery is all the Christmas blessing I will ever need. The Lord gave us a great gift when he delivered her from the ravages of that stroke, along with your prayers. Again, your prayers and Aprils healing is all the Christmas I need. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, and please continue to remember her as she continues to progress. Thank you, and God bless you.
