Hello friends., Good morning hope all are doing good by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.... Today lets observe characteristics of two sisters by name Martha and Mary. Luke 10:38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. Martha is the one who showed respect towards christ and invited him to her house. When Martha invited Lord to her house, she thought of serving Lord with utmost respect and provide Lord the best hospitality . Luke 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus feet, and heard his word. Mary spent time at Lords feet listening his gracious words. Luke 10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. Martha was not happy with Mary as she seems like not bothering lord at all and not helping Martha in her work in providing hospitality to Lord. And complained the same to Lord. Lord replied to Martha....... Luke 10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: Luke 10:42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Lord said to Martha you are busy in pleasing me by doing hospitality and Martha preferred spending time with me. Now question is........ Is it wrong what Martha is doing......... Simply NO. As per Martha she want to show her respect towards Lord in providing utmost hospitality. Lord would be more delighted if Martha spent time with Lord having communion knowing heavenly things. Dear friends we many times bother much of doing this and that, participating in church activities and assume that we are doing Lords work. We unknowingly forget to spend time at Lords feet which would Delight Lord more than activities we do. Both were important, but firstly our focus should be on spending time at Lords feet. When you do different activities for church along with spending time at Lords feet, our activities will be more meaningful and bring glory to God. Lets pray today, help us to prefer firstly spending time at your feet. Help me to balance both my prayer time and activities so that you may get glorified by the activities we do....
