Hello friends and family. Our little boy, Iraja (aka Raj, Raja), born 2 1/2 months early, continues to do well, grow, and improve every day. Weve convinced the doctors to let him come home with a feeding tube as he solidifies his eating capabilities. Jeremy and I have received training on inserting and checking Irajas tube, and we thought we were going to bring him home by today. After much discussion (and tears shed on my part) with nurses, doctors, patient advocates, etc. the new tentative discharge date is this coming Friday. My Mom is still in town and being very patient, agreeing to remain with us until we get settled in once Iraja is home. She has helped us so very much with Vaeya, house upkeep, hospital shifts, etc., etc.! Jeremys sister, Brita, and our dear friend, Lauren, have also helped immensely! Many other friends have helped in so many ways this past month, and we are so infinitely grateful for all of the visits, meals, and love sent our way! It has been a surreal and turbulent journey, with the awful tragedy of Jeremys mothers death occurring across the country right in the midst of our distraction. Her passing and memory have certainly not been properly served through this journey, and we deeply regret that she will never meet her grandson, who, I am certain, would have loved his Grandma as much as his sister did.
