Hello friends, you know life brings us a variety of seasons. You may be going through a season of stress, hurt or suffering, perhaps at unimaginable levels. You may have anxiety, fear, confusion, anger, sadness and a host of other emotions. If that is you, you are in a position where you need to be heard, understand, and supported, just as much as you need clarity of mind and understanding. The last thing you need is to feel that your pain or anxiety should not be there or that its dismissed, disregarded, or negated. Remember this, your experience matters to God and to those who care about you. Its easy to think we should put on a brave front and stay positive about our struggles, but that is not the biblical model. David, the man after Gods own heart, got right to it and spilled out his guts about his own experience: How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Psalm 13:1-2 Your experience matters to God, so it should matter to you as well. It will help you move ahead on your journey toward healing if you focus on your experience and what it means rather than enter into comparisons. Comparisons distort reality and can minimize how severe your situation is such as thinking, Lots of people in other countries have it much worse than I do, so I should stop feeling bad. That sort of guilt message isnt really helpful. Your situation and pain are yours. No one should judge your level of pain by what kind of life you have. A successful business person who loses a career that they love and have been dedicated to for decades is truly suffering. They might have a home and car, but be in great distress.
