Hello from the void everyone. It has been some time since we have given any updates, information, or news on whats going on with Orwell, and as weve had a lot of folks asking, heres whats up: First: A few weeks ago, March 19, 2014, we lost a true team member, joy, and mother in the Orwell camp. Mary Ann Bolstad did more for us than she will ever know, and trust us, we ask a lot of our family and friends to make this possible. Being supported and encouraged by people like Mary is truly what makes you feel like you are doing something correct in life, it breathes deeply into your work and gives you a sense of pride in your creation and output. To not only have the support, but the appreciation and respect of our art from those who put the most into our lives is a gift that we carry with us until we play our last note. We will remember and pay tribute to Mary Ann in many ways throughout our lives, and she will always be a part of what makes us Orwell. Mary Ann, thank you so much for all you have done for Erik, and all of us in Orwell. We have accomplished so much, and been so many places, and it just couldnt have happened without you. Thanks for always believing in us. --------------------------------------------------- The tides are continually shifting for the five of us, and while it has slowed our progress (and stopped it completely a few times) it has not changed what we do as a core. We enjoy playing music together, and we have been doing so as often as our insane lives have allowed over the past year. We have musings and some riffs worked out for an ultra-cold endeavor that I think will probably stay on ice until next winter, and weve been kicking around some stuff that just might suit summer. Either way, we are making no promises, as of now, Orwell is purely what we call it when the 5 of us actually have time to get together and jam really loud, and it happens only monthly. However, I see SOMETHING coming out in 2014 musically, Im just not sure what it might be. Who knows. As for those who have pre-ordered the AVOH vinyl. We were never given any numbers, emails, info, or anything, so unfortunately your guess is as good as ours if its happening at all anymore. All people involved had good intentions, it just seems like some things may have not worked out. Again, We dont know much. SO, if you have paid money for a pre-order copy of the AVOH vinyl, please email orwellmetal@gmail and let us know. Well try to come up with something to make it right. Lastly, if you live in any town, youve probably noticed cris has played washboard in it. He has decided to pursue S.S. Web full time, as they are touring and doing all kinds of awesome shit. Go check them out on tour all summer, they are totally rad and a super fun ass band to see live. We wish him all the best. We are all very excited to announce that Jim will take over the roll once again. There was really never any down time, we are all close friends with Jim, and it was natural to ask him to rejoin the band. Well update again sometime, but probably not until theres some music. all the best, and back into the darkness we march. - T W E L J
