Hello, ladies! My name is Christa Nielsen, a proud mom of 6 and 10 year-old girls, and a little over a year ago, I started a community outreach program called Operation Birthday Box. OBB connects people in the community with children living in Bucks and Montgomery Countys housing shelters to brighten their birthdays. OBB is now an official Pennsylvania Nonprofit Organization, serving Bucks County Housing Group, A Womans Place (the only domestic violence shelter in Bucks County), Christs Home for Children, Valley Youth House Bucks County, and Child, Home & Community in Bucks County, as well as the Salvation Army Family Shelter, Inter-Faith Housing Alliance, and Laurel House (a domestic violence shelter) in Montgomery County. Joining #TeamOBB is a great way to make a difference in the life of a child in need, a child who does not have the same options as most of the children living in Bucks County. It is also a terrific way to teach your own children about the importance of giving, in a way that is simple, fun, and easy to understand.
