Hello loyal and amazingly patient backers, I have some long - TopicsExpress

Hello loyal and amazingly patient backers, I have some long overdue good news. :) To cut straight to the chase, we have secured a small private investment which will cover several months of full-time development. The new budget is primarily for the programmer, as well as paying the rest of the team and contractors for any remaining work on the game. None of it goes to me. I’ve also opted to invest in more game content rather than bringing on a business manager/production assistant, for the time being. We’ll see how long my sanity holds with that decision, but I’ve made it this far wearing all the hats so I might as well push across the finish line. I’ll continue to work a side job roughly 50 hours every weekend throughout development, and will be putting any extra money (after bills) back into the budget like I was when this project first started. Overall I’ve sold off most of my material possessions and put my entire life savings and more into this game in the past few years, often prioritizing Z. over things like health insurance and a roof over my head. So please believe me when I say I’m literally doing everything I can to get this project finished and in your hands, and your continued support has made it substantially less impossible. The lessons I’ve learned throughout this project will last me a lifetime. If I knew in 2012 what I know now I would have made less mistakes and could have planned for the unplannable a bit better, but it is what it is. Time to move forward! VERY tentatively, were looking at a closed alpha for all backers by the end of December. A development roadmap will launch so you can see whats done and what features still remain. Youll also be getting a pledge manager to confirm your rewards, sort out any address changes, and more. All backers will also be getting lots of extra bonuses to make up for the LONG wait and for being so insanely patient with me. Major Kickstarter updates may be rare for the next couple of months as we crunch hardcore to hit our early milestones, but once thats done the floodgates will open again and well have a ton of awesome stuff for you to see and play. It has been a long, insanely challenging road to this point and there is still lots of work to do, but we’re now in a position to deliver, and deliver soon. Some of you have understandably given up on Z., some of you have forgotten about this project altogether or simply lost your excitement for it, and a good deal of you have stayed supportive despite plenty of signs this project would end up like so many other failed successful Kickstarters. Thats not going to happen. Personally, I’ve never been more excited about Z., and when you finally see what we’re cooking up I hope it rekindles the spark that made you back this project so very long ago. Thanks for reading, thanks for backing Z., and thanks for still being here. More to come soon. --Sebastian
