Hello my FB fam! Pastor Currys sermon was We Have an Advocate, 1st John 2:1-2. We all need help as we go through this life. If we live long enough, were gonna need an advocate. His name is Jesus Christ. It doesnt matter how holy we try to look, theres sin in our lives. If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves & the truth is not in us. Instead of trying to fool ourselves, we need to get on our knees & confess. If we confess, Hes faithful & just to forgive us of our sins & cleanse us of all unrighteousness. ALL not YALL have sinned & come short of the glory of God. Cant spell sIn without the I. Everybody has some skeletons & fine print in their lives. When we sin, we have an advocate with the Father. We have a counselor, a comforter-His name is Jesus! Hes our defense! Jesus Christ is appointed to us by the Father. Jesus is already on our case, Hes there to stand with us. He sits at the right hand of the Father, the side of compassion, making intercession for the saints. We dont get forgiven, because we arent guilty, because we are, but Jesus paid the price, He paid the penalty. He took our sins past, present, & future, so when we sin, we already have an advocate who is there 24/7, He NEVER slumbers or sleeps! Im SHOUTING...THANK YOU JESUS for being my advocate when I sin!!!
