Hello my darling D.D ladies. I apologize as this will probably be long winded. Today November 12 is my mothers birthday. Some of you older D.D ladies may know but you ladies may not, my mother passed away this past April just after my 30th birthday from breast cancer. Her name was Kathleen Perron and she was the most amazing person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in my entire life. My mom and I had our ups and downs in this life but some where along the road she became my best friend. My mother was my biggest supporter when I decided to start cloth diapering link. She was even more excited and supportive when I told her I wanted to learn to sew so I could make my own diapers. She spent hours at joanns with me and donated tons of clothes she no longer fit into to help me get together my first home made stash. When I told her I wanted to make this hobby a business she was so proud of me and did every thing she could to help me on this journey to becoming a small business owner. My mother cried when I told her I wanted to name the business Deas Designs. Her mothers name was Delores every one called her Dea and my mother gave me my middle name after her. My mother watched as Delores slowly deteriorated and died from breast cancer at 49 years old. At 30 I was slowly doing the same. My mother was 55 years old when she passed away here in my home in my sewing room surrounded by my business she had so encouraged. I had a very very hard time coming into this room even thinking about sewing at all after she left us and I was close to giving up. But a few of you awesome ladies Terri Malloch-Montalvo Gloria Yuke Jessica Zaragoza were little lights of inspiration and hope in the wahm community to not give up and not let my dream go. With the money from my mothers life insurance policy I was able to invest in new equipment and materials needed to become better more efficient and most importantly compliant. Ive come back stronger than ever and more motivated then I could ever imagine being given the circumstances. To celebrate my mother, my grandmother, and this business I have taken a piece of coveted fabric I had purchased to make my mom head scarves since she had lost her hair again from chemo and made a epic windpro hybrid from it. I would like this to be a PIC PASS IT ON hybrid only for the members of this group. Id love it to visit each of your houses new members and old and bring some love and joy into your home. New members this is a chance to try one of my hybrids free of charge. My vets this is a thank you for supporting me during some really rough months this year. I would love if you could share bum photos of this while its visiting you so I can have the admins album them all for me as you all know the happy baby in D.D made items are the #1 reason I keep doing this. In a amazing newspaper article my grandmother was in she quoted cancer changes you there are both positive and negative aspects of cancer. You learn to develop a new way of looking at life and your priorities. just a few short weeks before my mother passed she went to her very favorite vacation spot Daytona Beach Florida for bike week and brought me back a patch that simply said put your big girl panties on and deal with it. . Both of these quotes grace my sewing room walls and keep me going. Thats where I am Im finding my priorities after cancer changed my life. It took away my best friend and my biggest supporter. Im putting on my big girl panties and focusing on my family and my business and I cant thank you ladies all enough for being here beside me through it. If you would like to have a turn and try this epic hybrid please comment your name below and Ill have Terri set up a s.s list. I will send it to the first person that person I only ask send it to the next and so on. If soakers or snaps ever need to be addressed with this please ship it back to me Ill fix it or replace it then send it back on its way through the group. Thank you ladies - Bre Owner and creator behind Deas Designs Boutique.
