Hello. my friends! I wanted to give you an UPDATE on my Urology appointment Friday afternoon. Must confess, it hurt like HELL until the camera reached the bladder itself, then, it was just uncomfortable as he moved it around. Was VERY surprised that they didnt use a topical anesthetic on the Urethra opening before inserting the camera ... everything I read had said that is a standard practice. WRONG! I just thank the Good Lord that I had the foresight to take an Atavan before my appointment! To be honest, results were disappointing. The good news is, there were no abnormal cells in the urine cytology. As learned with the CT Scan, there are several granular stones in both kidneys, but they are tiny and the shouldnt be causing any bleeding as there have been no signs of them moving. Todays Cystoscopy showed no sign of polyps or lesions in the bladder or urethra. The doctor let me watch what was going on on the monitor. It was interesting to see how the urine comes from the kidney and empties into the bladder! Its actually like watching a blowhole on a whale! The blood in the Urine continues ... with no answers. The thing is, I have had absolutely NO pain ... and doctor said they are not blocking anything according to the CT SCAN, so he is perplexed as to the amount of blood still in the urine after TWO months. And it is every time I pee, not just occasionally. I have a follow-up appt Jan 9th. If the bleeding continues, he will consider putting me under and doing some sort of scope thing that actually goes up into the kidneys themselves. He did say that the amount of blood loss was nothing to be concerned about at this point - such as anemia or anything like that, but that it does have to be monitored. Also, medication reaction could also be a possibility. Expecially the Xarelto, since it is so new, there is a lot still unknown about its actions to the kidney. Just more unanswered questions :(
