Hello, my name is Catherine, I live in Belgium and I am the mother of Malik, born on 18/05/2011 with Ebsteins anomaly in the most severe form. The tricuspid valves were completely glued to the walls, his pulmonary artery was blocked (critical pulmonary stenosis), 2 holes in the heart are formed, and the right ventricle has tripled in volume. He was in bad shape when he was born. So doctors had to take the decision to condemn the right ventricle too sick. He undergoes two days of life for surgery Norwood (conviction of the right ventricle and installation of a shunt: Blalock). Then at 5 months he underwent surgery Glenn (partial cavo pulmonary bypass) and July 17 2014, he underwent surgery Fontan (total cavo pulmonary bypass). He can finally run around without getting tired, he is use to living in the fast lane .... but a problem persists. When hes playing, walking or running, he has a fever. Tha does not bother him but the temperature stays. Blood tests and blood cultures were performed, but no virus or bacteria. No effusion either. Right now, Malik is an enigma !!! I come seeking your help because I know that in USA, you are at an advanced level than Europe. Can you maybe ask a cardiologist who knows maybe the answer? Or have you had the same experience? I have heard of fever effort, It happens when we transplant patients. Malik gore tex 2 pipes that replace the right ventricle. Here, doctors are a little overwhelmed ... I think that the answer may be thousands of miles from home. Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Sincerely yours. ( sorry for my english :s )
