Hello team and parents, PLEASE READ.....I have a huge request: We are having so many athletes missing practices. It is becoming very difficult for me to put together groups, and workouts because when we get to practice many athletes are unexpectedly missing. We are under time constraints and it is getting more difficult to complete our workouts when I am constantly having to redo the workout on the spot. Please....now.....send me any dates of conflicts. I understand that emergencys come up that are unexpected...no problem! We cant control those things and will continue to figure those days out if they happen. I also understand that there are many illnesses going around and unfortunately that cant be avoided either. However, can you please send me a message if your athlete has to miss in advance. If your athlete wakes up sick, then please let me know right away. 1 hour before practice isnt really helpful because the workout has already been set, and I am on my way to practice. Can everyone please try and be conscious of this? It would help me out a lot. Especially today...we are in partner groups based on paces so it will be great if I can plan appropriately. Also, just a reminder....we always run in the rain. We only cancel if there is storming and lightening and many times, we can wait those times out together and still get in our run. Yesterday we had 5 athletes show up for the 4:00pm practice. That left teammates alone. Which isnt fun or safe. Just in case parents are thinking that your athlete has given me a specific conflict...these are the only ones that I know have been excused: Nick Elsey, some Wednesdays Taylor Melnick, Wednesdays Jordan and Lauren K days of tennis matches. (I have the schedule) Lauren K Fridays Lauren B, Mondays and Wednesdays Brehenden Mondays and Thursdays To my memory, these are the only excused absences that athletes have given to me. Homework, and just busy are not excused absences when the rest of your team is making the sacrifice to be there. Please let me know if I am missing anything or if you have any questions. Besides the difficulty in planning, it is better for your athlete to be consistent in their running in order to prevent injury. We have a season plan and every time they miss, it puts them behind. Thank you so much for understanding and being aware of this. See you all at 4:00pm. I did extend to 5:45 today due to so many missing practice yesterday. We will have a short meeting after our workout.
