Hello, thanks for adding me! I have a small hobby farm with many heritage breeds of chicken. I have spent a lot of time also working across the Territories and have visited many small communities through-out Nunavut where the cost of food is at itzs absolute highest. I have long thought about the idea of sending/bringing chickens to the people up north, in well insulated, well lit coops/sheds. I have seen greenhouses work successfully in Iqaluit, so I wonder if we could do the same with chicken coops. Imagine if each family had access to their own fresh eggs and chickens. I know this is a bit of a far fetch, but thought I would share this rough idea with all of you here. I can teach northerners how to incubate, hatch and care for their own chicks, and can also donate hatching eggs and laying hens. With crowd-funding and publicity, we could perhaps raise funds for incubators and coop building supplies... Just a wild idea, but you never know! :)
