Hello to all Clares lovely friends. First of all thank you to those who made the boys some lovely chocolate cakes that Fred brought home from school today and also the person who made a lovely cherry fruit cake. I am really sorry not to be able to name you but we are all so grateful and touched at your kindness and they are so very welcome. Today Shelley and Marie sent Robmate a silly video which he played to Clare she actually smiled at the funny bits which proves that her brain not only recognises your voices but is functioning well enough to separate and understand the funny things, she actually smiled in all the right places. That gave us all such a boost thank you so much. Any funny videos to stimulate her more will be greatly accepted. Now, our dear Clare. She has had a bit of a temperature today which worried us a bit but its settled down. The MRI results have confirmed that she has a serious brain injury, but we knew that and we still believe that Clare, with time, can heal some of that damage and come back to us. You all must stay positive. They are trying to get her off the ventilator (she has been off 12 hrs today) if they can get her off that, because she cant talk with it in her throat then we hope perhaps she can start to make some noises. The medical staff seem to have to give you the worst, but we have the strength, with your help, to think about the best. If she gets off the oxygen then they will move her to a rehabilitation unit and that is where she will get the stimulus she needs to help her brain recover instead of being in bed all day. We remain determined for Clare with the odd blip now and then when it gets to us and we have a few tears, and then upwards on onwards. We will prove them all wrong along with the strength of our girl. Come on sweetheart you show them what your made of!! Xxxxxx
