Hello to all, My goals if elected as your component president in the upcoming elections are: 1) Measuring in dollars and quality of life the loss we encountered since our last bargaining contract. 2) Right from the start of the mandate, the new component executive (which includes all presidents from the locals YUL, YYZ and YVR) must: Make sure that all our LOU’s (letter of understanding) are respected before the beginning of our negotiation and make sure that they don’t become part of the total budget allocated pertaining to our next contract. Make sure that the issues brought up at the CPS (Union/management committee) that are on hold be reviewed and resoled. Make sure that the committee members receive the support and training they need in order for them to offer the kind of service the members are expecting. Make sure all elected members form the three bases are given a personalized bargaining training from CUPE while respecting the component budget. Make sure that all members benefit from a better communication from the union by notices, social media in a constructive and informative manner, web site and adding a regular presence in the crew room by your union delegates. Make sure that all grievances that include a monetary issue be relooked and resolved in order to not disrupt YOUR next demands and desires for our upcoming collective agreement. As an example the grievances pertaining to the hotels and the crew comfort seats. I will begin the bargaining and I will end the bargaining! In solidarity, Martin Ducharme
