Hello zane my name is __________ ___________ and I live 30 min away from dallas I am pregnant have 3 kids and I am homeless ...I have family but just like the lady from dallas texas I was raped for several years by a family member and when I told my family they didnt believe me and told me I should be lucky he even looked at me that way....they refuse to speak to me ...let alone help me or my kids...I work as a home health aide but dont get paid much cuz Im so far along I really cant do much...Im overdue and scared to go to the hospital becouse then were will my bbies go??? I seen on your fb page pple said call 211 but they really dont help much besides shelter or food ...which u need a car so that u can go and get the food by a certain time ...we used to live in subsidized housing but we were put out becouse they are closing dwn...if u have any resources please let me know becouse Im at my wits end on what to do...also its ok if u post to fb as I want to see if anybody else might have some suggestions...please keep me annonymus (spell check) ... Ps I am a big fan of yours it was your books that first turned me on to african american literacy ! MY RESPONSE: Baby Girl, you are carrying a child and you are overdue. You have to go to the hospital and ask them to help you before something drastic happens. Do you realize that something could happen that might threaten not only the life of your unborn child, but your life as well? If I lived in Dallas, I would watch your kids while you had the other baby. There are a lot of people from Dallas on my page. I realize that you are scared but you cannot do what you are doing. Eventually, you will go into labor or get ill, and someone will have to watch the children anyway. You have done nothing to warrant them taking your children away from you on a permanent basis but I would think that if there were ever a true purpose for social workers and family agencies, this would be it. I am going to lift you up in prayer but you have to do something immediately about your pregnancy. Please let me know what happens. I love you and God bless.
